Marlene Stocks is an entrepreneur with proven expertise in senior move management, software training and consulting, not-for-profit program management and German language instruction.

She is president of Word Information Services, Inc., a consulting practice  she founded in 1983 to offer personalized software training.   The firm's client base  includes international corporations, small to medium sized companies, school districts, government agencies and individuals. In January 2008, she combined her consulting expertise, outstanding organizational skills, nurturing personality and ability to relate to seniors to offer "Senior Transition Services". In her capacity as a certified senior move manager (cSMM), she helps her clients downsize and relocate to retirement communities.  Marlene meets their organizing goals by providing gentle, objective and compassionate guidance, which provides them and their families the peace of mind they need during a time of great emotional and physical stress.  She manages a staff of five.

Marlene’s personal goal is to work with her clients and help them achieve their own objectives, whether downsizing their home, preparing to relocate, becoming more proficient with new software, successfully completing a particular project or improving their German language skills.  She does this by listening and understanding her client’s needs, thereby developing creative cooperation and synergy with them. This rapport allows her to launch a strategy that pro-actively sets realistic expectations, identifies and evaluates alternatives, establishes parameters, defines deliverables, communicates timelines, implements the required services and monitors satisfaction.

She earned her MBA degree from Drexel University and has taught undergraduate German courses at the University of Pennsylvania and Saint Joseph's University.  She serves on the Board of Directors of the Eastern Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (EMCCC) and is a member of the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM); Network Connections of Montgomery County, Bucks County and Philadelphia; and the Bucks County Women's Business Forum

In his capacity as Director of Operations, Bob Stocks combines his corporate management experience with his people skills to ensure that the downsizing and relocation services provided by Senior Transition Services meet the customers’ needs and expectations.

Bob spent 32 years with Rohm and Haas Company.  His experience was in the field of Information Technology and included management positions throughout the IT organization culminating with the leadership of the world-wide effort to direct the company through the infamous Year 2000 process globally. Bob’s work with Rohm and Haas entailed travel to numerous company locations nationally and internationally.

While with Rohm and Haas, Bob served on the Board of Directors of a professional trade association, XPLOR International, for 7 years.  During that time, he served as vice president for two years prior to assuming the presidency for an additional two years. This volunteer position brought him in contact with a variety of stakeholders and utilized his public speaking talents.

Bob earned his undergraduate degree from Washington and Jefferson College in western Pennsylvania.   He later received an MS degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Organizational Dynamics. Since retiring from Rohm and Haas, Bob has worked as a consultant and trainer in the use of personal computers with Word Information Services.  In addition to being a member of EMCCC, Bob serves as the secretary/treasurer of The Concordia Trust.
